Sales Engineer
Job description
To primarily assist the internal sales estimator with the following duties: assisting in the creation of points lists, assisting in the creation of estimates, subcontract pricing, vetting of enquiries, vetting of sub-contractors' pricing, and updating quotations later to fall in line with the latest prices before submitting the latest bids.
The long-term goal is to develop the candidate to operate efficiently in sales after gaining knowledge of the systems and services we provide and how to efficiently estimate and then develop relationships with clients and assist in the regional growth plans.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Assisting in the targeting of consultants/contractors and end users in the region to secure BMS projects/energy orders.
· Learning how to promote and sell the Eon Controls brand and understanding all the company’s sales propositions.
· Assisting in the Nurture and development of relationships with consultants, specifiers, and end users via technical presentations of integrated systems and building management products.
· Creation of small T&M quotes with assistance where required from the sales manager or the regional internal estimator. These quotations would range from £50 to £10K with a minimum level of supervision.
· Assisting the estimation process in pulling together pricing of project works ranging from £10K to £2M,
· Assist in the preparation of technical enquiry documents to obtain control panel and electrical installation prices.
· To assist in the creation of providing timely update reports and briefings to the sales manager / regional manager.
· Assist in providing monthly reports of sales activity and order forecasts.
· Assist in the creation of sales leads for the sales team.
· Be customer-focused at all times and deliver outstanding customer service by displaying a positive and proactive approach on every occasion.
· Act in a manner that continuously improves your business performance.
· Any other duties deemed necessary by the directors/managers of the business
Specific Job Knowledge & Skills & Experience
· Preferred, though not essential - experience in a similar role
· An understanding of the business, our region and the sales role would be an advantage.
· Ability to work well as part of a team, but also work efficiently on your own
· Excellent attention to detail
· Excellent time management and organisational skills
· Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable
· Good customer relations
· Good understanding of Safe Systems of Work and the importance of H&S in the workplace
KPI’s of the role
· Assist in ensuring tenders are delivered on time
· Assist in the creation of accurate estimates based on client requirements
· Assist in the development of the tracking and logging of all new enquiries and chasing up existing bids
·
This role, along with all company roles has a responsibility to ensure all visitors and operatives in the workplace adhere to the ECS health & safety policies and procedures.
