Business Development Manager - Service (BEMS)

Location: Leeds, England, United Kingdom

Job description

To target new customers, focusing on service contracts, upgrade work, and small project opportunities within the Northern (Yorkshire, Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire) region. Ensuring that all works secured meet the minimum margin, thereby safeguarding profitability and meeting the expectations of the business, while providing technical sales and support to achieve the region’s sales targets.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

· Obtain annual service-related order intake of at least £600,000 per annum initially rising to £1.2million per annum [inflation adjusted] in 36 months at company expected minimum margins

· Targeting new, to the ECS business, opportunities from FM providers and end users in the Northern region to secure BMS Service contracts, upgrades and energy works

· Promotion and selling the EON Brand and understanding of the sales propositions

· Nurture and develop opportunities and new relationships with end users via presentations of integrated systems and building management products.

· Preparing quotations with values up to £500k at company expected minimum margins

· To provide timely update reports and briefings, monthly reports of sales activity and order forecasts to the regional sales manager.

· Be customer focused on all times, and deliver outstanding customer service by displaying a positive and proactive approach on every occasion

· Act in a manner that continuously improves your business performance

· Forge and develop long-term relationships with new key contacts and decision makers to safeguard any additional requirements

· To work with sales and projects teams to ensure the sales offering has clear objectives to win business from competitors

Specific Job Knowledge & Skills & Experience

Qualifications -

· Minimum Level 4 Qualification in a role-related subject

Skills & Aptitudes –

· Have an excellent existing footprint with FM contractor and end users in the region.

· In-depth product knowledge of estimating, bid management, and building management systems

· Ability to work under own initiative but work as part of a team.

· Superb communication & organisational skills.

· Commercial awareness.

· Good attention to detail.

· Self-motivated, responsible and accountable.

· Willing to add value at everylevel.

· Use of Excel, Word & Outlook and in-house Management database & Financial systems.

KPI’s of the Role

· To promote the growth of the EON Brand through direct sales activity

· Positively contributing to the regional sales pipeline by identifying tender opportunities and by managing these from tender receipt to order placement

· Meeting and exceeding sales and margin targets

· Accurate and timely forecasting

· Increasing the customer base in the end-user/FM and public sector markets

· Work in tandem with the Northern sales board to achieve KPI’s that have been set

Experience

· A minimum of two years in a BEMS service sales role in a customer service-facing environment.

· A proven track record in BEMS service sales with a minimum annual order intake of £500,000

Additional responsibilities

· Competent in preparing detailed estimates, formal tenders, including supporting documents and prices

· Have in-depth knowledge of BMS and integration

· Keep up to date with BMS and Energy legislation

This role along with all company roles has a responsibility to ensure all visitors and operatives in the workplace adhere to the ECS health & safety policies and procedures.
