Static BMS Support Engineer
Job description
You will be responsible for carrying out static BMS Support work at one of the most prestigious new sites in Central London.
The role would be based at our client’s award-winning Central London, European headquarters. One of the world's highest BREEAM-rated major office buildings. You will join our successful and experienced team of full-time engineers to support the client day to day.
The role is based on a standard 37.5-hour working week pattern.
The role requires you to be an experienced Trend or Tridium Engineer, ideally proficient in both however further training can be provided to the successful applicant should it be required.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Responsible for reviewing the operation of the BMS system and identifying and rectifying faults on the system.
· Responsible for reviewing the operation of the BMS system, identifying improvements that can be made to the operation of the plant, and carrying out strategy modifications to achieve this.
· Carry out seasonal commissioning of plant where required to ensure it is still operating as per the original design intention based on the approved des ops.
· Make recommendations for alteration and addition to the client’s system to assist with tailoring the new BMS system and associated plant to the client’s requirements.
· Assist our client's on-site M&E team with finding and fixing faults with the BMS system and associated field equipment.
· Responsible for making backups of software and strategy files as required for all associated systems (Trend IQVision, Trend IQ, and TONN)
· Reviewing alarms on the BMS system to spot persistent issues and areas of concern.
· Replacing faulty BMS controllers and field equipment where required.
· Maintaining a report covering activities completed and further recommendations.
· Keeping the ‘BMS Works List’ up to date with works complete, works in progress and works required on the system.
· Attending training courses and meetings as requested by ECS.
· Ensure works are carried out within the project Method Statement and Risk Assessments and amend where and/or report to the Project Manager where necessary.
· Adhere to all client and company ISO, Health & Safety procedures and policies.
· Complete timesheets on Focal Point weekly.
· Any other duties deemed necessary by the Director / Managers of the business.
Specific job knowledge & Experience
Technical
· Experienced with Trend Controls equipment.
o Competent using SET
o Trend TONN8 & IQVision competency would be advantageous, although training will be provided where required.
· Ability to correctly interpret and alter existing control strategy in BMS systems.
· Knowledgeable with HVAC systems.
· Electrically Competent
· Strong PC skills (Word and Excel).
Personal
· The role will require you to have a proactive approach where you will be required to work both independently and as part of a small team
· The role will involve dealing with the client and their M&E contractor so good personal skills are important.
· Being innovative with ideas and being able to share these within the team.
