We're looking for an Asset Management & Policy Manager to join our Energy Infrastructure Services business based at our Wednesbury facility, Birmingham.

Here's what you'll be doing

Within this role you’ll play a lead role in the delivery of projects, policies and strategies relating to the management of E.ON's metering assets as part of a technology driven change programme which will result in c. £500m of distributed assets, which will be managed by E.ON. You’ll also be responsible for the development, operation and management of E.ON's asset management system to reflect the new structure, systems and relationships following E.ON's organisational realignment. 

Another key element that you will be managing within this role is to develop maintenance strategies and policies and produce maintenance plans which reduce the cost of asset operation, maintenance and replacement while ensuring that regulatory, safety and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

Other key responsibilities:

  • Building E.ON’s asset management capabilities by defining and developing asset management policies and the Strategic Asset Management Plan.
  • Responsible for defining asset maintenance and replacement programmes and working with operational teams to put these in place.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate provision of asset based data to inform asset management activity.
  • Support contract management colleagues in developing appropriate terms for new contracts to ensure counterparties work with E.ON to allow effective asset management.
  • Responsible for maintaining an appropriate asset risk management process, through directing team and stakeholders to operate this.
  • Responsible for the direction and output of Asset Management Specialist and Asset Analyst.
  • Responsible for ongoing subject matter expertise in relation to asset management systems and data output.   
  • Responsible for development and implementation of processes for third party installation, maintenance and asset financing contracts, including attending contract and process design meetings with 3rd Party customers.
  • Responsible for representing E.ON position to external stakeholders (including government and vendors) and internal stakeholders (including BAU Smart Field Connections and E.ON Group functions) in the areas where projects and policies are to be delivered.

What we need from you

  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience of implementing asset management principles, processes and procedures in operating environments to deliver business goals.
  • Experience in the use and development of IT systems to support asset management activities.
  • A willingness and ability to learn the technical, commercial and regulatory aspects of the metering industry from a classic and smart perspective.
  • Ability to develop new operational processes and policies, and review existing processes on the basis of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to identify risks relating to business strategy and operations and develop and propose suitable mitigations.
  • Experience of challenging the status quo to deliver for the business, and demonstrated ability of managing the impact of this on stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering multiple complex projects at one time by using project management methodologies 
  • Experience in communicating with and influencing internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Full valid UK/EU Driving Licence.
