Credit Structuring Analyst

Here's what you'll be doing

The E.ON Industrial and Commercial (I&C) Pillar combines the current nPower Business Solutions & E.ON B2B businesses to create a new £8billion revenue business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Credit Structuring Analyst to join our team. For this role, you will be responsible for providing decisions on credit terms to be offered to customers within the Industrial and Commercial (I&C) and Generation Services market spaces. This role offers the hybrid working approach, where you will be working in the office (Solihull) approximately 2-3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate creditworthiness of counterparties from detailed financial information, calculate settlement risk and potential mark-to-market amongst other exposures faced and structure contracts for credit with approved parameters.
  • Operate and maintain the portfolio of credit mitigation across the lifecycle of a customer.
  • Maximise the insurance cover levels available from nPower Business Solutions’ credit insurer by working with customer to procure the necessary financial information to challenge the insurer’s decision to ensure the best outcome for nPower Business Solutions and the customer.
  • Make recommendations to the Credit Structuring Manager as to how the credit workflow solution, DynamiCCs, can be further optimised in order to improve the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

What we need from you

  • Proven industry experience in a risk management, commercial and/or structuring position (in particular within credit risk).
  • Good understanding of power and gas markets, in addition to a good understanding of the evolution of the UK business energy supply market.
  • An understanding of credit scorecard development, management and auditing for both selection and segmentation purposes.
  • Competent stakeholder management, with the ability to influence, negotiate and manage expectations across numerous areas.
  • Experience of working with legal functions on drafting, reviewing terms and conditions, and managing contractual credit risks.

  • Strong stakeholder management across all levels.
  • The capability to manage the risk-reward dynamic between Commercial, Operations and Sales functions.
  • The ability to understand customer problems / concerns and create bespoke credit solutions to meet them before progressing bespoke alternatives.
