We're the newest face amongst the E.ON group of companies. E.ON Next is all about creating a sustainable future, now. We're moving our energy in the right direction, one little big step at a time.

We started to build E.ON Next in March 2020, migrated our first customer to the platform in June and reached 1.5m customers in six months to become the #7 energy retailer in the UK by end of 2020. And our growth continues with all E.ON residential and small business customers moving to E.ON Next by the end of 2022. We will then be servicing the second largest energy customer base in the UK.

We’re also here to make this whole energy thing way easier for our customers. Like, really easy. That means providing exceptional service and using state-of-the-art tech to do it.

To drive our online business we are looking for a Senior Direct to Consumer Manager

In this function you will lead and strategically develop our online acquisition channel of residential and small business customers.

Your focus will be on driving significant growth of this channel. This will comprise the identification of opportunities, definition of initiatives as well as execution of these together with the wider go-to-market team.

This role spans online acquisition and cross-/up-sell activities across all our customer segments and white label partners. You will work with the product development team to optimise our product offering, with the marketing and inhouse creative team to ideate and optimise campaigns, with the front-end and UX team to identify and deliver the optimisation levers in the acquisition funnel.

Other regular activities include tracking and reporting against business KPIs for a variety of forums. Together with the go-to-market team, you shape priorities and define targets to achieve our big ambition.

Your understanding of customers as well as the ability to analyse data, derive key initiatives from it as well as managing key stakeholders on the journey will be key to success in this role.  

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage eonnext.com and our white label sites, including daily operations, sales performance, site maintenance, analysis and insights
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive significant increased website traffic, conversion rates, revenue and profitability, leveraging analytics and A/B site and email testing
  • Identify, test and execute best in class online user experience that drive engagement and conversion
  • Troubleshoot on-site bugs and work with developers to identify opportunities for improvement of online user experience
  • Partner with marketing, content and design team to plan and develop SEO-friendly brand communications, ensuring brand consistency, clarity and quality of all marketing communications
  • Establish an effective tracking and measurement of online acquisition performance
  • Engage with our white label partners to support their online acquisition growth in the same way
  • Define KPIs for the business performance of eonnext.com as an acquisition channel
  • Keep abreast of current trends in digital marketing and E-Commerce

Are we a match?

  • Significant experience in building, optimizing and running successful online sales platforms
  • Extensive Product Management experience in a top technology company
  • Solid knowledge of key digital trends and innovation relevant for the job
  • Strong execution skills and can successfully drive cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly consumer or small business online experiences
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Math or Business
  • MBA is a plus; start-up experience is a plus
