We’re looking for Gas Safe qualified people to join our E.ON Energy Installation Services Team and become retrofit assessors. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking for a role where they can really make a difference to customers and the environment whilst growing their experience and build/create their profile in a commercial arena. Being a key role in delivering the companies Energy Efficiency obligations, it involves shaping activity across key stakeholders such as, Retrofit Coordinators, designers, installers and specifiers to deliver business GM and NPS performance.


The main role of the retrofit assessor will be to help identify where a customer’s gas boiler is broken, provide a suitable replacement option by doing a retrofit assessment and making sure all the right paperwork is done so we can help customers as quickly as possible.


Key responsibilities:

  • Identifying if a gas boiler is eligible for replacement under the ECO scheme rules
  • Ascertain whether the boiler is broken down or if it is an external issue
  • Identify boiler faults and demonstrate what parts will have been required by conducting a basic fault-finding analysis of the boiler
  • Identify if a customer is eligible under the benefit qualification scheme rules
  • Conduct a full technical survey including replacement recommendations and a quotation under the ECO scheme rules
  • Complete a retrofit assessment of the property and lodge a new Energy Performance Certificate

What we need from you


  • Domestic ACS gas qualifications including CCN1 and CENWAT as mandatory
  • Knowledge of IT systems and their interaction with the Energy Assessment process.
  • Fully competent in completing technical surveys on residential dwellings, for example heating systems, external/cavity wall insulation and loft insulation
  • A full understanding of RdSAP methodology 
  • Full driving licence with less than 6 points 



  • Understanding of PAS2035 and the Trustmark scheme.
  • Qualified Domestic Energy Assessor – Accredited.
  • Understanding of the Energy Company Obligation ECO delivery
  • Qualified or working towards retrofit assessment
  • Able to deliver targeted outputs on Energy Performance Certificates
  • Knowledge or qualification of the green deal
  • Knowledge of solar PV, Cavity, loft insulation and air source heat pumps

The salary range for this role is £27,829 - £30,921 depending on experience.
Due to the nature of the roles a Criminal Record Check will be required.
This is role is a permanent role.
