We're looking for a Jointer Electrician to join our Energy Infrastructure Services team based primarily at Barnsley


Here's what you'll be doing

E.ON UK operates one of the largest Street Lighting Contracting businesses in the UK with a large presence in the East and West Midlands as well as the North West of England. We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in. We operate as an ICP and carry out jointing associated with the installation and connection of electrical networks for most of the housing developers in the UK. We have agreements to work on the DNO and IDNO networks in the UK and we are now looking at expanding and growing our Independent Connections Provider business. To assist with this growth and to meet our current obligations, we are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking Jointers to join our team.


Right now we're looking for a Electrical / Multi Skilled Craftsperson Electrician. The role holder will have the ability to supervise multi skilled teams, conversant with all aspects of Industrial electrical installations, trunking, tray work and distribution board installation including inspection and testing, with an opportunity, following appropriate training and authorisation, to develop their skills to include EV charger installations (UFC & V2G) along with highways lighting systems and carry out all connections onto distribution and private networks associated with DNO and IDNO unmetered supplies. This is a great development opportunity for a time served industrial focused electrician.


The person that we are looking for will ideally be an apprentice trained electrician with the relevant C&G qualifications and current 18th IEE Reg certificates and experience of electrical installation works, testing and inspection whilst ensuring all work is completed in a safe manner and in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures. Company transport will be provided for work purposes as travel will be expected.


You’ll also be responsible for: 

  • Driving general and specialist vehicles appropriate to the role
  • Ensure personnel and possibly sub-contractors under their control fully understand and adhere to their job requirements
  • Taking full ownership for personal health and safety responsibilities and that of the team ensuring PPE worn at all times
  • The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • The ability to take a confident but diplomatic approach to customers at all times
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practices

What we need from you

What we need from you:

  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or training programme.
  • C&G 236 pt 1 and pt 2 or equivalent with extensive & proven relevant trade experience.
  • 18th edition BS7671 wiring regs qualification.
  • Previous Full G39 qualification would be an advantage but not essential
  • Current NRSWA Accreditation would be an advantage but not essential
  • Current First Aid and Manual Handling certificates would be an advantage but not essential
  • CSCS accreditation would be an advantage but not essential
  • A current driving licence with MEWP operator’s cert an advantage
