We're looking for a Highway Electrical Technical Training and Development Lead to join our Lighting and Grid team within our Energy Infrastructure Services business. This role is flexible with working location as you will mainly be travelling around the Midlands.

We have a great opportunity for a Highways Electrical Technical Training and Development Lead to join our Lighting and Grid business to support the delivery of our growth strategy and people plan, we are looking for a Technical Training and Development Lead to join our existing training team.
You’ll be responsible for the delivery of the Highway Electrical Apprenticeship scheme standalone Highway Electrical training courses (HESA), Highway Electrical VRQs and NVQs (Lantra), the programming of and day to day management of the Highway Electrical Training School. This involves leading a team of Technical Training and Development Specialists and work on a multi- regional basis so flexibility and willingness to travel and stay away from home will be required. Within this role you’ll also be responsible for managing the relationship with our external governing bodies and represent the company at an industry level. 


As the Technical Training and Development Lead you will:

 

  • Lead, coach, mentor and motivate a team of Technical Skills and Development Specialists ensuring they are motivated and high performers
  • Delivery technical training, assessor and IQA duties
  • Work in close partnership with key stakeholders across EON to identify, manage and deliver all training requirements to ensure our people are technically able and competent
  • Be responsible for external audits ensuring that the Training School and any third-party training providers meet and exceed the required standards laid out by our governing bodies
  • Promote a Health and Safety culture ensuring compliance to all industry, legislation and company standards, processes, and procedures
  • Undertake such other duties as:
  • Maintain approvals for HESA and Lantra
  • Act as Lead IQA and attend/represent Eon at EQA visits
  • Chair regular internal standardisation meetings
  • Comply with and continually develop the established IQA process
  • Comply with and continually develop the established NVQ process
  • Comply with and continually develop the established HESA training process
  • Develop delivery materials for HESA training delivery
     

What we need from you

Essential:

  • Have a minimum of 6 years of technical experience in Highways Lighting and be able to cross reference this work into HESA and Lantra approval requirements.
  • Willing to work on a multi-regional basis when required and stay away from home, where necessary
  • Hold the following qualifications or be willing to work towards achieving them:
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent
  • Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or equivalent
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment or equivalent
  • Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent
  • Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or equivalent
  • Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely/Site Management Safety Training Scheme or equivalent
  • Be computer literate and proficient in all Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Have a proven track record of successfully leading, managing, and motivating people to enable them to achieve their full potential
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 points
