Do you see yourself as a problem solver with a passion for data modelling and reporting? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Settlement Analyst. If this has caught your attention then this may be the opportunity you are looking for.

We are looking for someone to become the expert for the gas and electricity data models which are assigned to you, knowing how things work behind the scenes, plus also keeping associated process documents and roadmaps up to date.

You will use your passion for data to provide analysis and reporting in relation to various gas and electricity costs, which includes investigating any variances and anomalies which crop up.

You will be inquisitive about the financial costs paid and investigate/challenge where necessary, using your expertise to identify when things don’t appear quite right and look for any root causes ensuring resolution.

You won’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. Understanding and owning complex queries, providing successful conclusion and ensuring you always keep stakeholders informed along the way. This will put your excellent people skills to good use by establishing and maintaining relationships with your team, management, and key stakeholders, both internal and external.

We will be looking for you to expand your knowledge around how the gas and electricity industry works for settlement and regulatory processes the team supports. We’d need you to utilise your knowledge to assess the impacts of industry change; this can be to systems and processes and may also include implementation/system testing (and model redevelopment). You will be confident to challenge and evolve the ways of working and support the delivery of any key performance indicators.

What we need from you

  • Ability to extract information and build modelling from large data sets
  • Development and programming language knowledge/experience such as SAS/SQL/Python
  • Strong IT skills in MS Office including excel and access.
  • Be an excellent communicator and to be able to explain complex outcomes to varied audiences within and outside of the team.
  • Willingness to delve into the complex world of energy and learn the inner workings of the codes and agreements associated to energy settlement.
  • Be results orientated, able to meet tight deadlines, produce clear, concise output to management and stakeholders.
  • Able to prioritise workload in line with stakeholder/customer needs.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a strong analytical ability.
  • Flexibility and strong self-motivation to get results delivered.
  • Able to interpret complex problems & distil wider issues into manageable, shared team activities.

 

It would be great if you have:

  • Gas or electricity industry experience including detailed industry flow knowledge.
  • Experience with energy industry software e.g. SONET/GINA.
