Job description

Responsibilities

  • Undertake and be responsible for a wide variety of legal and governance matters, advising on a range of legal, compliance, regulatory and governance matters impacting the Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) portfolio and the Central EIS businesses.
  • Supporting and leading individual projects, as well as working with the Central EIS and regional teams on broader projects. Work closely with central and local functions on EIS relevant topics and issues, including health and safety, compliance, corporate audit, legal & compliance, supply chain etc. whether on EIS related projects or broader strategic projects related to development of the EIS business
  • Developing and working closely with the teams to develop the sharing of legal, contracting, risk management and regulatory know how and experience
  • Assist with governance, compliance management and supervisory board activities of EIS direct steered businesses so as to ensure lean, but robust and fit for purpose corporate governance implementation including central corporate housekeeping topics, work closely with the EIS finance team in supporting overall governance and capital allocation
  • Draft and review a range of legal agreements, communicate, as necessary, with EIS lawyers across the E.ON Group
  • Work on a broad legal and contractual aspects related to EIS growth and business development for example IP, partnering, financing structuring as well as participation management

Qualification

  • Degree in law, or a comparable subject and/or significant experience in legal and operative contracting and commercial matters, ideally with a broad experience in international environments as well as experience in the energy infrastructure sector
  • Strong legal and commercial understanding of the contractual, regulatory and risk profiles of the EIS business families, gained through significant operational experience in commercial, contracting or legal roles some exposure to finance, controlling and business modelling would be beneficial
  • An ability and desire to work within a project set-up, undertaking a wide range of roles and tasks, supporting projects and growth activities across the EIS portfolio, including supporting large international projects, partnerships and ventures as well as supporting on inorganic growth projects, including M&A
  • Broad commercial legal experience, and ability to apply legal and contractual expertise in creative ways, supporting business development and sales/Customers initiatives
  • Pronounced lateral thinker mentality and flexibility in dealing with different scenarios
  • Team player mentality with high integrity constructive challenger mentality
  • High self-motivation combined with entrepreneurial thinking
  • Strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution
  • Fluency in English in written and spoken is a must; German highly desirable other languages are a plus (e.g. Italian, Polish)
