What you can expect from us
As E.ON Energy Networks, we operate Europe’s largest distribution grids in 8 EU countries and all over Germany in an extremely dynamic environment. The Energy Grid segment is the backbone of the E.ON Group and employs the majority of E.ON‘s workforce. With many digital and innovative projects, you can drive the growth of E.ON‘s biggest department and shape the grid infrastructure of tomorrow.
- During the program, you’ll have the chance to work in different functional placements mainly across multifaceted Energy Networks departments (e.g. Digital & Innovation, Strategy, Business Development, Portfolio Management, Regulation)
- Besides, you’ll complete at least one cross-functional and one international placement
- Moreover, we offer you the opportunity to gain global insights into E.ON’s business with a focus on specific Energy Networks topics (e.g. digitisation and automation of grid connection processes, sustainable vegetation management) across Germany (see examples) and Europe (e.g. Malmö, Prague, Warsaw)
What we expect from you
- You have an above average Bachelor’s degree in (preferably Electrical) Engineering, IT, Business or Economics with at least 2 years of relevant working experience or a respective Master’s degree
- Enthusiasm for solvingenergy industry issues on an international scale with an either entrepreneurial, technical, political, innovative or financial mindset characterizes you
- You are fluent in English and have a good communication level in German, especially when working in German regional units
- Ideally you have gained international experience staying abroad in the form of exchange semesters, internships, or volunteer work
- Your initial hands-on experience in the energy, technical or digital sector would be ideal
- You can contribute with the ability to build meaningful relationships with relevant interfaces as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Strong solution- and customer-orientedthinking with high logical skills is what we are looking for to develop even further with you
An already existing residence and work permit for Germany are not necessarily required.

The Get-to-know-you interview takes place about four weeks after you receive feedback on the psychometric test.4. Assessment and engagement event
At these virtual one-day events, we look forward to gaining further insights into your personality and skills. In turn, you will have the opportunity to get to know E.ON, the programme, and possible areas of work better. The event takes place about two to four weeks after the Get-to-know-you interview and is the final step in the application process.

During your 24-month trainee period, you will receive a gross salary of €58,070 per year. At the end of your trainee period, you will have a permanent employment contract. You can then negotiate the exact amount of your salary with your future department.
