Senior Consultant (m/f/d)

Location: Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

What you'll do:

Do you enjoy solving challenging problems? As an ECON Senior Consultant, demanding projects will familiarize you with the entire spectrum of the energy value chain and you will be working on E.ON Group's top priority topics.

As a member of an international team, you will analyze and structure the complex issues facing the energy sector and which specifically apply to our company
You will work hand-in-hand with your Project Manager to develop strategic and operational solutions for E.ON along the whole value chain
You will be responsible for a number of crucial project modules, independently manage customer and operating processes and develop concrete recommendations for action
You will moderate workshops, create presentations and communicate your recommendations both to the ECON management team and your customers
You will take on initial leadership responsibility through supervising new colleagues and interns and taking on a number of internal tasks (e.g. marketing, recruiting, training)

What you'll need to succeed:

You have a top-grade master's degree in your pocket and offer at least two years' work experience in the consulting sector / industry or an additional qualification (doctorate or MBA)
Ideally, you have already gained some initial consulting and project management experience
You are fluent in German and English
Apart from getting a buzz from the energy sector, you offer excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
You want to make a difference and have an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset
Your strengths include the capability for questioning existing structures and the ability to proactively push a project ahead
Both, your precise, structured communication skills and your talent for presentations let you win over your customers

How can you apply?

At ECON, we are continuously looking for new talents who are eager to make an impact with us! Our Recruiting Day, consisting of 2-3 case study interviews, is held on-site or virtually, depending on your availability and preference.

What does an ECON Recruiting Day look like?

An ECON Recruiting Day consists of 2 or 3 interview rounds. We start the day with a company presentation, followed by two case-based interviews with our senior management. The day offers you the chance to get to know our team and find out more about your individual career opportunities. After the interviews, we are pleased to invite you to an informal lunch with our consultants who are not involved in the recruiting process. In the meantime, our interviewers will compile the results from the first round. If the morning was a success, we will then invite you to a final interview. In this interview, two more interviewers will take time to confirm the positive impression conveyed during the first round and remove any concerns. On the same day, we will provide you with personal feedback, and successful candidates will receive a contract offer.

What to expect in the interviews

Each interview consists of three parts:

A review of your resume, in which we ask you questions on your expertise and personal background as well as what motivates you.

This is followed by a case study aimed at finding out how you approach strategic problems and what solutions you can come up with.

Finally, you have the chance to ask us your questions.

How to prepare for the interviews

In our interview, it is our aim to get to know you personally and to get an impression of your problem-solving skills. To ensure that these interviews are a success, you should be able to provide us with convincing reasons as to why you are the right candidate. Further, you should familiarize yourself with how to solve case studies. We also recommend the interactive case-study online platform PrepLounge.
