Job description

As a (Senior) Strategy & Portfolio Manager (f/m/d) Energy Transition for E.ON One specializing in investments in startups within the energy transition, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of early-stage companies with high growth potential.

    • Collaborate with the leadership team to define the investment thesis and long-term portfolio strategy, considering market trends, technology advancements, and regulatory landscapes in the energy technology sector
    • Support during the due diligence process on potential investments, including financial analysis, technology assessment, market analysis, and competitive landscape evaluation
    • Participate in investment discussions, debates, and due diligence meetings to contribute to well-informed investment decisions
    • Lead on the hands-on operational post merger integration into the E.ON One Ecosystem
    • Actively engage with portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and networking support to help them achieve key milestones and growth objectives in the strategy section
    • Work closely with portfolio companies to identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, market expansion, and partnerships
    • Monitor the operational performance of portfolio companies, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and addressing any concerns or challenges
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations in the strategy framework for the executive team and key stakeholders, updating them on the status of the portfolio, financial performance, and market trends


    • Proven experience (>5 years) in portfolio management, private equity, energy industry, in the strategy area or a related role within the SaaS industry
    • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related (strategy-) field. An advanced degree or MBA is a plus
    • Solid understanding of SaaS business models, market dynamics, and industry trends
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful product strategies and roadmaps
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across different teams and departments
    • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing SaaS products in a competitive market
