Job description
The Team - your impact
The Secure App & Internet Access team is an agile team responsible for providing secure, reliable access to all internal and external applications for E.ON employees. Our scope includes both IT and OT applications, ensuring seamless and compliant connectivity across the enterprise.
Your Role – meaningful & rewarding
- Design, implement, and evolve our Zscaler setup used globally across E.ON
- Support in building and maintaining infrastructure as‑ code modules (OpenTofu‑/Terraform) to automate platform rollout, policy deployment, and lifecycle operations
- Continuously improve the platform’s reliability, observability, performance, and security posture
- Drive architectural decisions and align designs with E.ON’s overall security principles and technology strategy
- Collaborate with cross functional‑ teams, including security architects, network engineering, workplace engineering, and application teams
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to accelerate adoption and ensure consistent governance across the organization
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort, increase consistency, and accelerate service delivery
Your Profile – authentic & open‑minded
- Deep experience in security engineering or network engineering, ideally focused on Secure Service Edge (SSE) or Zero‑Trust Network Access (ZTNA)
- Hands‑on expertise with Zscaler, or comparable SSE platforms
- Solid understanding of modern internet security concepts, secure access patterns, DNS, proxy architectures, traffic inspection, and identity‑driven policy enforcement
- Ability to translate complex business needs into secure, scalable, and automated technical solutions plus proven experience with regard to working in large enterprise environments with global user populations
- Structured, collaborative, resilient, and confident working style with strong customer focus and problem solving‑ mindset
- Eager to work in a central product team with high visibility and impact
- Business fluent in English, conversational in German
