Manager Controlling Digital and Joint Functions

Location: Malmö, Skåne County, Sweden

Job description

Welcome to E.ON – and become part of the energy transition. Together with our customers and partners, we ensure that electricity and heat are produced, used, and recycled in smarter ways. If you are passionate and believe in the power of working together, E.ON is the place for you.

About us
Driving sustainable value is the core purpose of Finance at E.ON. Finance Nordics shapes the financial direction of the Nordic business and acts as a trusted partner to the Nordic Management Team and the CFO. We take full responsibility for Finance as a joint service to the three business segments in the Nordics. Our ambition goes beyond providing numbers: We actively shape decisions, drive performance and steer the business with a commercial mindset, transparency and forward-looking insights to enable sustainable and profitable growth.

Within Finance Nordics, Controlling Digital and Joint Functions is the financial steering function for IT and Joint Functions, creating transparency, fostering disciplined performance management and driving long-term value creation through clear governance and close stakeholder dialogue. We are evolving towards a more forward-looking, impact-driven and decisive steering partner.

To accelerate this journey, we are now looking for a Manager to lead Controlling Digital and Joint Functions.

About the role
As Manager of Controlling Digital and Joint Functions, you will lead a team of 11 experienced controllers and act as a financial advisor and strategic business partner to senior stakeholders across the Nordics.

Your responsibility goes beyond running financial cycles. Operating at the intersection of financial discipline and business ambition, you shape performance dialogue, influence prioritization and drive long-term value creation. You work closely with senior stakeholders, take clear positions and make sound decisions in complex environments.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Owning and driving forecasting, planning and performance steering cycles for Joint Functions and IT in the Nordics
  • Translating strategic priorities into clear financial guardrails and performance ambitions
  • Acting as a sparring partner in investment cases, budget negotiations and strategic prioritizations
  • Translating complex financial data into clear, decision-relevant insights for fact-based decision-making
  • Ensuring robust, efficient and scalable financial processes and governance
  • Shaping and evolving the IT and Joint Functions steering model and performance dialogue to ensure clear accountability, value transparency and disciplined prioritization
  • Driving continuous improvement of processes and tools
  • Developing and empowering a high-performing team with clear accountability, impact orientation and a commercial mindset

You report directly to the Head of Finance Nordics and are a member of both the Finance Nordics Management Team and the Business Digital Technology Management Team.

Your experience
We are looking for a confident leader who addresses critical issues openly, leads demanding discussions, takes clear positions and drives alignment around difficult trade-offs and sustainable outcomes. You combine strong analytical capabilities with a commercial mindset. You confidently navigate complex stakeholder environments and large, matrix-based organizations while maintaining clarity and direction. You hold a university degree in Finance, Economics or IT and bring solid experience in Finance and/or IT, ideally in performance steering or business controlling.

You bring leadership experience – disciplinary or functional – and lead with clarity and ambition. You set clear, demanding goals, empower your people and build a team that delivers top performance in a sustainable way.

Fluency in Swedish and English is required. Experience from the energy sector is not essential; what matters most is your ability to take ownership, your willingness to challenge the status quo and your drive for continuous improvement.

What is it like to work with us?
You will be part of a management team of four managers with clear responsibilities and a shared direction. We value openness, transparency and collaboration, and are working to strengthen our proactive and forward-looking mindset.

The team you will lead is experienced and knowledgeable, with strong expertise in financial processes and governance. There is a close and supportive atmosphere, and at the same time an ambition to bring in new perspectives and further develop our ways of working to become more future-ready and efficient.

You will report to Marvin, Head of Finance Nordics. His leadership is built on trust and empowerment – providing clear direction while giving space for ownership and initiative. He values collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement, and sees stakeholders as partners whose success we actively support.

At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion – it is essential to driving the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe working environment with meaningful tasks and good opportunities for development. We continuously challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace where we hope you will thrive.

We work towards a more sustainable energy society, but it is just as important that our employees have the right conditions to care for their personal sustainability. That is why we offer attractive benefits to support your well-being and work-life balance. These include reduced working hours beyond industry standards, health insurance, free medical care, and much more.

We warmly welcome your application and invite you to join us on the journey towards a sustainable society! The final application date is 19 March.

As we operate in a critical infrastructure sector, this position is security-classified, which means a security screening will be conducted prior to employment.
