Sr. Revenue and Settlements Analyst


Purpose of position:

We are currently seeking an innovative and talented individual for the position of Senior Revenue and Settlements Analyst.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the accounting of wholesale energy sales, preparation of journal entries and analysis associated with these activities. The successful candidate will also be expected to become an expert in energy accounting and analysis with emphasis on hedge transactions while acting as a resource to other departments within the Company. They will read and understand contractual obligations for delivery of energy.


Essential Functions:

  1. Analyze all revenue sources for proper revenue recognition, including energy hedge valuations and derivative settlement (SWAPs, Options etc.), Natural Gas and Heat Rate settlement, electricity sales contracted via Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs),  merchant energy sales, accounting for imbalance energy settlements and accounting for liquidated damages
  2. Validate and confirm forward transactions with respective broker portals and generate confirmation letters
  3. Prepare revenue journal entries during the monthly close process and perform reconciliations of all related accounts
  4. Build and maintain settlement models based on executed contracts
  5. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing of internal/external customers across various energy markets
  6. Conduct meter validation and confirm shadow calculations are accurate and within tolerance.
  7. Maintain and enhance all Settlement and Accounting systems including OATI, SAP Sales and Distribution module, and various complex excel models.
  8. Manage auditor requests related to revenue and receivables, ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules.
  9. Communicate and collaborate effectively with front-office and middle-office personnel.
  10. Assist in special projects.


Minimum 4 years’ experience in settlement with focus on energy hedge trade processing, confirmation and settlement

Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field
