Principal (m/​f/​d) Focus Utilities Infrastructure

Job description

As part of the ECON Senior Team as a Principal (m/f/d) with focus on Utilities Infrastructure, you will take on responsibility for our most important Energy Networks projects and help with your experience and expertise to support implementing the significant CAPEX growth required to successfully deliver the energy transition for E.ONs largest business segment, its electricity networks infrastructure.

Yours Tasks:

  • You will analyze the complex issues facing the energy sector and those specific to our company and develop corresponding strategic and operational solutions for our energy networks business
  • Working hand-in-hand with the ECON management team, you will lead our most important projects and ensure we achieve excellent results and high customer satisfaction
  • You will develop a long-term relationship with our customers at E.ON Group's different business units and act as a competent sparring partner for the top management team
  • Together with the ECON management team, you will help to build our business, and on eye-level be an expert for E.ONs Top Management as well as responsible Functional Management at our regional grid companies
  • You will steer and built-up ECON internal expertise and knowledge to accelerate thought leadership topics that help E.ON to manage the transformation
  • You will take on leadership responsibility for international teams and push the personal and professional development of our consultants and peers in the senior team through regular feedback and coaching sessions
  • You will represent ECON in external matters and take on a central internal role in such areas as marketing, recruiting and training

Your Profile:

  • Education: You have an excellent university degree (master's/diploma) in your pocket - we also welcome additional qualifications, such as a doctorate or MBA
  • Communication: Fluency in both German and English is essential for effective communication within our international team and client base. You should be capable of delivering presentations to board members and collaborating closely with functional management.
  • Project Management: You have already proven yourself as a successful project manager at one of the leading top management consulting firms or in other large-scale projects (with focus on utilities infrastructure) and you can look back on at least seven years' relevant work experience
  • Expertise: You have showcased firsthand experience in transformation, process optimization, and digitization within energy infrastructure companies, particularly DSOs. Familiarity with technically-driven organizations is advantageous.
  • Skills: You have a deep understanding of the challenges that the energy industry is facing and the specific technical & energy-economic complexities of Distribution System Operators. You should be able to translate these challenges into actionable programs that drive transformation and deliver tangible results for the energy networks business.
  • Leadership: You have exceptional leadership skills that inspire and motivate team members to perform at their best. Your ability to develop talent and foster professional growth is paramount.
